Experimental impact testing

For over 20 years, VTT Technical Research Centre of Finland Ltd. has led impact testing on reinforced concrete under extreme events. Our facility uses pressurised air to propel projectiles to a target. We primarily test concrete slabs but accommodate custom mockups. Capabilities include slab bending and punching, inclined impact, force dynamics, vibration, scale sensitivity, liquid dispersal, and blast load shock waves. The facility supports protective structure R&D, client cases, OECD benchmarks, and the ongoing international IMPACT programme. New partners are welcome to the next project.
